Help me name my ski camp.

    What's up boys?

I feel kinda bad about coming to you for advice since I haven't been a very good part of the community lately. I haven't even been lurking like I used to.

But I notice the same old crew hanging out. This site definitely rules when it comes to the quality and character of its people. A true laugh riot.

    Anyways, enough sucking up.

    Let's play name that camp!

I'm in the process of putting together big mountain skiing camps. This year the location will be Alta, then I might have camps in Europe or who knows where else next year.

I figured with all of the creative minds on this site I would take the easy way out and grovel for your input.

The name needs to be non site specific, since the camps could be staged anywhere. Other than that it's open warfare.

I will use the name for everything from my Website to advertisements, to anything.

Winner gets a brand new pair of Smith goggles(kid sized).

    Just kidding. Man sized.

Here is the rough preliminary outline for the camp:

Gordy Peifer Big Mountain Skiing Camp

    Goal
A ski camp that teaches safety and big mountain techniques while highlighting the unique and inspiring inbounds and out of bounds terrain and snow conditions that Alta has to offer.

    Participants
Advanced to expert skiers ages 18 and up looking to increase their abilities while skiing with top professional freeskiers, instructors, and guides.

    Staff
    -Gordy Peifer- Big mountain skier
    -Jim Conway- Professional mountain guide
-Megan Brown-U.S. Ski Team alumni and pro freeskier
-Shawn Hanka- Veteran PSIA ski instructor
    -Guest celebrity skiers

3 day camps (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

    Tentative dates: Dec. 17,18,19
    Jan. 14,15,16
    Feb. 4,5,6
    Mar. 4,5,6

    Instruction
    -Big mountain skiing technique
    -Mountain preparedness and safety
    -Snow assessment (finding good snow)
    -Avalanche awareness
    -Route selection
    -Proper equipment and use of
    -Backcountry etiquette

    Evening seminars

    -Video Analysis
    -Avalanche seminar
    -Alta History-Guest speaker
    -Skiing slideshow (Local photographers)

    Lodging and Meals
-Slope side at one of Alta’s lodges

    Equipment demos and giveaways

    -Rossignol, Eider, Leedom, Gordini, Smith

Once again, it is not an Alta specific camp. The name needs to leave out the word "camp".

Think of Dean's name for his company-H2O-clean and simple.

On the serious tip, why not keep it straightforward?

    "[your name]'s Big Mountain Camp."

or stick with your board name.

    "Straightline Ski Camp."

Of if you talked a little about your philosophy, what your goals are, etc., that may help people come up with an apt name.

"Noname Ski Camp" (I honestly think that sounds badass)
    "Dropping In Parallel"

I really like the idea of switching locations each year. It sounds to me like it could easily develop a cult following; something that the same people come back to year after year. Perhaps the name should reflect this?
