Skidoo puts out sweet reversible ones now...
Cfr has most of their stuff in stock again

They come stock and are the sweet reversible ones. Left them down all day because I was over heating any time I went less then 20 mph for an extended period of time. We mostly solved it by keeping the tunnel covered in snow. Also realized I have the expert package which comes with the tiny little snow flap, which doesn’t deflect snow up into the tunnel. I think I can get the Linx snow flap attachment, I’ll have to look into it for hard snow days.

Yeah the Linq flap attachment is a good idea for the turbo and Expert models if you are going to use it all season.
Run regular scratchers until they break, then get cable scratchers. Run a real flap. Ride in the soft snow on the side of the trail frequently if you are running hot. Let your sled idle down for 10 or so seconds before you turn it off. Try not to turn your sled off immediately after a long hard pull.
That’s the plan. Not much soft snow around but I’ll be better about that.
Cable scratchers when these die.
We were tossing snow on the tunnel, letting it idle until the temp started coming down, then shut her off.

Careful which cable scratchers you get. I've got a set on mine that are stiff as fuck and do a great job. A work sled got a different cable scratcher with a softer (smaller diameter?) cable with some kind of plastic coating, and they sucked. Not all are created equal. So far the stock reservable spring ones on the newer skidoos work well (but don't back off the sled deck with them down!).
I always put scratchers down and flap on when riding up the groomed trail in the morning, Sled runs at 47c. Slow pace up a whooped trail have seen 65c, pull over chainsaw the track in and bam back to 47.
Years ago buddy made a snow cooler out of a Rubbermaid for spring riding lots of gravel. Cut the bottom out and strap it to the tunnel, fill with snow and put the lid on. Works great.

Our sled deck is aluminum where the scratchers run. Those steel scratchers on Al put my teeth on edge. The sled trailer we use sometimes has a wood deck, and it has lots of gauges from those double sprung steel scratchers flipping to the reverse. But ya, no damage to the scratchers in either case.
This is genius! Love it!

Trailer tire blew up on the way back, had no idea until I got out of the van at home. Shocked I didn’t notice this over 20 miles of driving. Got the sled off the trailer and noticed a guide wheel was done too. First season with the sled and haven’t had any unexpected maintenance issues with weekly use from November until now... I feel like a dumbass for the trailer mishap though! Lesson learned, give the guide wheels a quick check every now and then.

Some highliners sessioned the shit out of Mt Eva yesterday. Don't know how they got up there [prob heli sling], but they gave that mountain a working over like nothing anyone's ever seen...Highmarks right to the edge of knife aretes, crossing blue hanging glaciers, and up to the rock of subpeaks. Fucking insanest set of sled tracks ever witnessed...
Don't know who did it, tracks were all I saw, and through a neighbor's binoculars at that. But it was madness. Bookmarking for when the footy premiers big screen next porn season.

Turns out no, they do not. Two issues - Stock bars are 1-1/8" and the riser is meant for 7/8" bars. Not a deal breaker but would also require purchasing new bars. And the steering column is larger (or at least at the flange where it Ts) and so the bolt locations are different - would require either modifying/replacing the steering column or modifying the riser. Deal breaker from my end - not going to try to DIY my steering column. So, back to the dealer to return the riser and try to track down something that works for an XM and doesn't cost as much as aftermarket.

So great. Can't wait to get out with the little man here - though at under a year, I may have to wait a little bit yet.
On a similar vein, anyone have any experience with the Arctic Kitty Cat? Been eyeing a few up online for the little man to ride next season. Looks like it would be a lot of fun on groomers.

starting to look for a sled for next year. My wife and I need a sled to get to our remote cabin we will build this summer (lol that's a pipe dream) in the Jackson area of Wy.
I originally thought an old beater trail sled would work, but looking at these all these videos seems like I NEED a pow sled or a 'hybrid' sled (not sure what they are called). Thinking the route is a fun sled for me and a old beater trail sled for her to get her to and from the car. Atm she has no interest in getting high on pow in the sled. It seems as all the pow/hybrid sled are for one person only?
Anything I should be looking for on KSL? Is there a post somewhere in here about how to buy a sled? How bad are the hybrid sleds in pow, should I just got all in on a pow/mountain sled?
Brands to avoid? models to avoid?
We have to go 5 miles from car to cabin.
Sorry if this is a bad post that gets made all too often.
I have a little bit of play in my steering column on 2015 Ski Doo. I don't get out taht often, so it may have always been like that, but i definitely notice it now.
Anythign to be worried about?
Normal.
