    ATTN EC MAGS/MINIONS!!!

All-east passes announced! They're cheap this year (supposedly limited quantities too--yeah, right).

    Anyway, get thee one:

    http://www.allforonepass.com

You get K, Attitash, Mt. Snow, etc. Only $599 for the Gold pass--no blackout dates!

Not sure if this was posted already...I scanned & didn't see. I figure it's worth a bump/re-post though.

Sorry for yelling, I'm just very stoked!

Damn sprite. You beat me to it. It's about time the EC resorts got in on the lower pass price / higher skier visits mentality.

Spanky, I was in shock when I checked the k-chat board this morning and that was posted. I hadn't even checked my email this weekend so had no idea about it. No wonder I've been having ski dreams 2 nights in a row! woo-hoo!

Base, if ya pick up a season pass somewhere else ya still get 1/2 off jay tickets(makes it $20-30 if I remember).

Or find a college student that looks like you and have them get you a pass. There are plenty of tall goofy looking college students around, myself included.

I wonder if this all for one pass is the dying gasp of ASC...

college season pass is tough to score with out proper scholl reg. forms and current i.d.

i can still get college day passes with my six year old i.d. at jay

i'm thinking of shelling out the loot for stowe, and skiing jay on pow days when the lifts are actually turning and blackout dates. but then i have the whole issue of alternate and horrificly expensive lodging.

Not necessarily...I think it's smart. If they are *really* offering limited quantities, then that's going to encourage the more regular skiers to buy a pass and perhaps start going to the resorts again instead of heading to other more expensive/distant resorts. It could help them out reputation-wise (and they sure need that) and begin building up their customer base and loyalty to the resorts.

I doubt that it will increase skier traffic because even if the quantities are not that limited...it's not likely that 10,000 people will just start skiing since ASC cut their season price passes in half.

Further, I don't even think it will encourage "borderline" people (those who like to ski, but still only go 10-15 times a season) to buy the pass...especially if it's for a family. That's still shelling out $2400 for a family of 4 to ski on the Gold pass, and you have to be pretty into skiing to want to do that. The break even point for the gold pass is to ski 14 times btw.

Overall, I feel it's a good move and could mean they are heading in a different/better direction rather than doing the death rattle. Guess we'll find out soon enough!

Anyway, the mountain will always be there (barring a massive volcanic eruption). And if they ever did permanently close the lifts (heh)...well, I believe I may open a slopeside mountain goat lift service for the weak city folks like myself who don't have the stamina to hike it.

Nah, base what I'm saying is find yourself a student to buy the pass like it was his, and either step in to take the picture, or have him look enough like you that it wouldnt be a problem. A lot of work, but if you are cheap like me, it might be worth it.

Consider this: the blackout dates on the $399 silver pass are for holiday periods when you might not want to ski anyway dues to overcrowded gaper filled hills.

Stowe is definitely the way to go for the east, I have been there for the past seven years and don't want to go anywhere else (in the east) If you can ski weekdays/early and late season, get the silver pass. No one is ever there and on the blackout dates you have to fight through 45-60+ minute liftlines for the gondy and quad. Unless you pack skins and hoof some laps out in the notch or backside, you don't want to be there.

You gotta wonder if the Vail - ASC merge hasn't started to happen. Maybe there's a few marketing people from Vail doing some "restructuring" of the ASC season pass deals, just to see what comes out the other side.
