    Denver Ski Area Weather

I'm not reading that long discussion thread!

I'm considering imposing on a friend in early Jan '09. Is there enough snow in CO at this time to make it a worthwhile trip? I know Tahoe is hit or miss until Late January/Early February, is CO better for the earlier season?

Thank you for your honest guess.

    okbye

Yea, its serious and it's good to know that there is plenty of snow. In January there is snow in Tahoe, but it is all bullet proof. I was hoping to get away to some place that has REAL snow not just white ice stuck to the side of a mountain. I wouldn't suggest a trip to Tahoe in late December or early January since it is more often than not crappy snow, sure sometimes its OK or even pretty great, but it isn't very consistent. If it's good here I'll stay and you can keep CO for yourselves.

I'm sure I'll be back in Tahoe by the 14th so don't fret, I won't be using up all your snow or crowding your lifts for too long and I don't have a BC set-up so all your stashes are safe.

For a serious answer.... I can't remember the last time (I've only been here 5 years, and knock on wood) that January didn't have good snow. Even if there's no new snow, there are plenty of places to ski where the snow will stay nice and soft.

If you can stay with a friend for free, then its a no-brainer. I'm sure if you let the maggots know before you come out here, we'll show you around.

why do you always say okbye all the time? I think people would take you more serious if you didn't.
