SheRa has a small penis, pass it on.
Spybot is excellent but we find that it does not get everything so we run adaware as well. Between the two of them they seem to get everything.
One other thing you can do that helps with some adware\spyware is open your Tools/Internet options in your browser. Go to the Advanced tab. Look for "Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)" and uncheck the box in front of it. Restart your computer.
I had to laugh when I saw this thread because I had just look at Roo's summit thread with the picture of you with the caption "And when I get the payout from my truck I'm gonna blow it on tits THIS BIG!"l

I downloaded Aluria's spyware Eliminator a few days back and it eliminated some stuff. I'll look at the others. And I'll try disabling the 3rd party extensions. Thanks.
Not on ly do I see DOS shell commands running with some weird regularity, but I rebooted the computer and another script was running. What are they gonna do next, reformat my hard drive?![]()

Um... I think I speak for the collective when I say "Yes, you need them in your lap. By all means!"

all good suggestions for getting rid of malware.
After you fix that, switch to another browser.
Firefox:
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
Netscape(Mozilla based)
http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp
Both have built-in pop-up blockers.
I use Netscape, but recommend either as a great alternative to M$ Internet Exploder.

Thanks, I'm going to start a download right now....I used Mozilla for a while and liked it alright.Originally posted by milton

hate netscape, bloated and oversized, wants you to login, failed starts due to 'profile in use'.
get firefox 0.9.2 runs on the mozilla engine so has the benefits of netscape, but is the stripped down, browser only version.
For anyone trying to clean up spyware there are a few good lessons i've learned:
1. run anti spyware tools under all users. you may miss things in other directories if you dont scan all users.
2. sometimes stubborn spyware programs can be removed easier from safe mode (hit F8 at first splash screen). safe mode keeps them out of memory and makes it easier to delete them.
3. If you are manually deleting files or using regedit to delete keys and you are getting delete errors, try renaming first then delete.
4. There is a cool little tool at http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml that shows you what programs are running at system boot or login and lets you stop them. He also has a couple other useful little utilities there, Clipomatic is pretty handy.
I do like adaware and spybot, but have found that spybot finds more stuff and cleans it better. But they do both have different databases so find different stuff. Plus the guy who built spybot is pretty entertaining.

that's already included in windows.
go to run, and type in: msconfig
click on "startup"
Those enlargement devices don't make it bigger anyway. Just lumpier.
Yep, seen this before. Crazy liquor & cheeseburger party got out of control.
Thanks, guys. Good stuff.
