    Season Pass Decisions

Since I'm now skiing in the Seattle area and not Portland I need to purchase a pass, cheap. Stevens and Snoqualmie are running college student discounts for season passes in the ~250 range. Crystal Mountain would be great, but I don't have $900 handy right now. Also, I could go the midweek route but I can't guarantee I will have that sort of schedule.

    Does anyone have a recommendation?

If you're not skiing in the Seattle area and not Portland, you don't need pass. If you're now skiing in the Seattle area then... How much do you want to drive to go ski? Less than one hour, pick the Summit, and ski Alpental and its BC. More than one hour, and Stevens is a great pick. Or buy a Summit pass, and an Harbor advantage card for the Stevens days.

Damn you for catching that before I changed it.

I don't really care about the drive so long as it is less than 2.5 hours. (My old drive time.)

If you want a Harbor Advantage card remember they're selling them for $39 at the Ski Expo next weekend. I think they go up to $59 after that. And if you go to the expo here's a link that has $3 off admission coupons: http://www.onthesnow.com/bewi/seattle/seattle.shtml

By the way, has anyone received their Advantage card yet? I bought mine at Ski Bonkers Labor Day weekend and haven't gotten it yet.

Don't waste your money on an Advantage Card, buy the pass. You'll pay it off before New Year's if you're a college student and ski some over break.

The only reason I'd think Alpental would be a better idea than Stevens is if you have afternoon classes and you'll have the opportunity to ski mornings midweek. Then the time difference would be worth it, Hwy-2 gets going pretty slow when it's storming on the passes.

Hmm, I'm probably going to go with the Stevens Pass college deal. I don't have any BC skills so Alpental would probably seem small.

See you at Alpental. The Crystal mgmt is too hard nosed to warrant more than the monthly hit. If you do Stevens, be aware that the parking shortage can require that you be up there before 8:30 on weekends.

duh, if only I could spell...
