    Chime this, pal.

    Hoboken checking in...

Hey OP: Okemo IS one of those bigger VT mountains (and Huntah is the Joey capital of the northeast), but please feel free to keep crowding those places up and leaving the good stuff for the rest of us.

I'll try to make it tomorrow, but it is unlikely I will. I'd definitely like to meet some people in New York who don't suck at skiing. I will be drinking somewhere around Smith st. in Cobble Hill/ Boerum Hill if anybody is in the neighborhood.

Yep, I'll be there around 8pm till the gates come down. Whether or not people can make it, I agree it would be nice to meet people in the city who actually can ski.

    Below is the original message:

Hey, I'm Djing at a bar in North Brooklyn on November 14th. No cover. Cheap booze. I will probably play some old Greg Stump movies on the tv.

Volunteering this as a meeting spot for NY Mags.

It's off the Graham stop on the L train the 3rd stop in

Sorry for missing your gig, instead of giving up excuses like "the weather was shitty" im just going to say "I was lazy." That being said, would any mags be interested in getting together for a bbq at my apartment in the lower east side of manhattan this weekend. Unfortunately, I don't have a tv for any ski movie stoke, but we have a killer patio setup and can fit a ton of people. Good way for some mags to get to know each other, eat some food, and drink some brews. let me know if anyone is down.

TGR NY - lets do it

I live in Brooklyn Heights, get about 20 east coast days in a year (maybe 15 west coast).

I don't have a car, but I have a flexible schedule and would gladly chip in money for gas, tolls, etc.

I do the long day bus trips up to VT often. Planning on doing Okemo opening this weekend (Emilio's ski trips - leaves at 4am, ~$90 includes lift ticket. Back in the city ~9:30pm). Customer service C-.

Would ski anywhere folks want to go most any time. Would def. be up for some backcountry trips in the NE.

Also planning: The Mountaineer's Adirondak Backcountry Ski Festival in Keene, NY (near placid) March 1 & 2. http://www.mountaineer.com/skifest/index.htm
    AND Tucks in April.
If I can squeeze Marcy in this year it's high on my list.

    Let's make some plans!

yep, i'm doing emilio's Okemo trip too on saturday. It's gonna suck but it meets the required criteria. No big deal on any no shows last friday at the bar gig, I blacked out drunk at the end anyways so I probably wouldn't have remembered anybody who did show...

I'm bringing my GF who skis a little slower - but let's hook up for at least a few runs. We can rip a primo 8 foot wide 4" deep man made strip of hard "snow". I'll PM you with something to identify me by + cell.

The forecast looks pretty sweet for the next ten days, snowy and cold basically. They really are in a nice pocket for snow with the added bonus of lake effect possibility...

Anyone up for a next friday skin weather depending?

let me know, I'll probably be able to get a car and wouldn't mind company, gas money, and a videographer for the sick pow.

I'd be down if I hadn't just sold my AT rig. Won't be replacing it for a couple weeks or so.

So I might (maybe I should emphasize MIGHT) do a Mt. Slow day trip on Tuesday. Let me know if any of you other sad sacks are interested as I will likely be solo...
Note that I'm anticipating conditions sucking, as it's raining there now and they're possibly closing some of what's open tomorrow due to ice.
So I guess I'm saying I may do something that is very not worth it on Tuesday, and if you feel like wasting a day doing the same I'll help you do so. Or maybe not. We'll see.

edit: maybe it would be slightly less stupid to go somewhere upstate...

Williamsburg/Greenpoint here, checking in! Wish I had seen the post about Windham today earlier, but too bad. Anyway, I'm always up for meeting for drinks and ALWAYS up for driving north. I have access to a car and have no problem driving.

Also, January 2-4 I plan on heading up to North Conway, NH for some Avy classes. They're offering Level 1 and 2 and would be interested in taking either (have as much informal training as a level 1, but figured I might as well make it official).

For those mags interested in doing a VT trip, I'm headed up the first of january. Will be staying with my friend in rutland, not sure where we are skiing yet, but there is an open invite to mags who want to come. Only condition is I'll prob be riding up with a buddy so I can't guarantee a spot in his truck. PM me for details.
