Middle Provo report

Fishing on the middle provo was quite good today. Caddis and PMD out on the water. As soon as the clouds moved in in the afternoon, the fish really started getting active and was able to hook several nice rainbows. The dog loved it as always.

I really want to check that river out someday - I do usually make a trip out that way 2 or 3 times a year. This will be the perfect excuse to the wife for a new rod... "but honey, I need a 4-piece so that it fits in the car better on our trips!"

lemme know if you are coming into town, I'll show ya where there's fish. The blue wing olives should start coming off in a few weeks. It's a nice little river to fish.

Where are you fishing that you are getting into a bunch of rainbows? Up around the bunny ranch or river road, rainbows are few and far between. Lots of nice browns though.

I figured as much. Interesting how much fish in a river change as you get higher and higher. If you like tossing streamers, head higher, the browns are really getting feisty. With the crappy weather coming up, it is prime streamer time.

yeah yeah, I want to head up right below the damn at Jordanelle for my next day of fishing. Saturday probably.
