    Running Browns

I am leaving work a bit early to see if I can find some running browns that are heading up to the gravel areas a little early to have fish sex.

I went on the hunt this morning and hit up the Gallatin just outside of Four Corners for a quick battery recharge.

Much slower than expected. Didn't put any fish into my hands, but had two nice brownies come off the fly right at my feet. A few other refusals and that was about it.

Gorgeous morning with leaves changing and sun shining = definitely still worth it.

We hit up the park today for some sightseeing (free entrance today and tomorrow for anyone interested due to National Public Lands Day).

Despite it being a circus (asshole to bellybutton as my dad would say) on most of the water visible from the roads, I really wish I had brought my rod. It was a gorgeous day. Of course my wife looked over at me at one point and asked "Why didn't we bring gear?". If I had known it was an option....

..Ahh igBand...I know the stoke of a sunny Fall day, but don't let yourself slip into tourist-mode (ie...Bright Sun) too often when after big late-season trout. Wait till you get a little cloudiness, often mixed with snow , then start throwing line....but you prolly already know...
