    A new realm of discomfort....

I won't call it pain because that would belittle what others with significant injuries have experienced.

But, if you do choose to pick up road rash while biking. I heartly recommend that you stick to asphalt, rocks, gravel, sandpaper, or just plain dirt rather than getting inventive with trees.

Cleaning pine tar out of road rash is one of the more uncomfortable experiences I've had in the past few years.

Damn, Toads is fun, just watch out for the sand.

Owww! Of course, just as I'm getting ready to do 50 miles today you paint this picture for me. I did that once in Tahoe, pine tar, needles, sand and gravel. Then I went to work on the line in Cafe Roma at Caesars that night. Standing in front of the fryers and the steam table wearing those idiot polyester uniforms definitely raised my tolerance for "discomfort."

Sand used to be my mortal enemy. I must be getting used to it now though, because I didn't crash once. Of course I did ride like my grandmother yesterday.

Tree sap avoidance duly noted. Thanks!
