Thumbs up New Thievery Corporation Feb 2005...

It's not news that there is a new album in the works but there is a small blurb on MTV news about the album. They are collaborating with David Byrne, Wayne Coyne and Perry Farrell.

    MTV News

Story is about 1 line and all the way down the page.

Also from their website, lists some additional artists to be involved:

    Thievery Corporation

Still aways down the road, but I'll be looking forward to the album. I also realized Abductions and Recontructions is not in my collection, I'll have to pick that up this weekend. It looks like a pretty good collections of remixes.

Christ, first Perry tries to ruin SCI, now Thievery. What band is next on his "they were awesome, but now they suck" list?

How can Perry ruin a band that already blows. I've seen SCI a few times but never really got into them. Though I was pretty impressed with Kang and the keyboardist. I have been to a decent amount WP, Phish and The Grateful Dead(not The Dead) shows, but never got into SCI. But, there was time I thought Phish sucked. I've heard about it, what is the deal with the Perry Farrell Incident, is he singing or spinning?

I am pretty big Perry/Janes fan, so I think a Thievery colloaboration might be interesting. He did a song on an Oakenfold album that was alright, "Time of Your Life", I think Grant-Lee Phillips was also involved.

Abuductions and Reconstructions is great - I love the Dub/Reggae vibe to their beats. Wicked stuff. Have you listened to Kyoto Jazz Massive, Modaji, United Future Organization, K&D, Phil Asher, anything by Compost Records, and the likes? Im sure youd like that shit as well

I dig Thievery. However, I'm not sure what will become of them with PF and DB helping out. Regardless, I will still check out their new stuff.

I just picked up Abductions and Reconstructions, I think it's from 2001. A collection of remixes, it's amazing. The first song is a remix of a David Byrne song, "Dancing on Vaseline", pretty good, sounds like David Byrne with some beats. They also do Stereolab, Black Uhuru, Rocker's Hi Fi and the Avatars of Dub, I highly recommend this album.
