I always think of it in terms of real or authentic ethnic food restraunts and americanized ethnic food restraunts. We have a couple of authetic mexican food restraunts and there is an obvious difference when compared to americanized versions. Both restraunts have their purpose. When I want more socialized atmosphere we go to the americanized restraunts because they are usually higher end and have fully stocked bar. When I just want great food at a good price I choos the authentic restraunt because they are usually smaller and less expensive and always have better tasting food.
