no, officially both him and wili weber denied all rumours. i'm thinking he may be out of shape or there's a contractual clash with kimi...

    Freakish accident:

He was hard on the throttle going into the barriers and no steering inputs, but he was braking too:

Hope to see him back in four weeks.

Otherwise, it was a strange weekend and it looks like the teams are fast approaching where they were last year in terms of performance. I guess, under the new rules, they can either focus on the championship or on next year’s car.

The doctors are saying he had damage to his left eye as well, and early indications show that he might have to retire. What a freak accident though.

I wouldn't put money on Felipe ever getting back to F1.

The testing ban really throws a wrench in the works when it comes to finding a (hopefully temporary) replacement for Massa. There’s still a possibility of his return, three days after the accident he can converse in three languages and he can see out of his left eye:

Here’s to Felipe (What!?! “I don’t feel like a baby”) Massa’s full recovery.

    That's a pity.

    Renault next, then Toyota.

Not that I wish any ill will on Felipe, but I hope Schumi sticks around long enough to race @ Spa & Monza. Valencia is an absolutely dreadful circuit.

Be good to see the old maestro compete against some of these young bucks.

Oh hell $20 says he wins a race this year.

i'll take that bet. "wins a race this year" i take to mean he has to race at least once and be first on the podium (or be declared a winner subsequently through disqualification of those finishing ahead of him).

as much as i hate spoonface i'd enjoy seeing him on track again. that said, i doubt he'll be able to do miracles with the shitty ferrari they have this year. if he manages to arrive first from third row (kers-assisted) at the first corner in a track like Valencia it may still be possible to win something, otherwise a podium should suffice. i'd pay $20 to see him win again even if it makes me boil

Kimi did pretty well with that shitty Ferrari in Hungary. Genuinely faster than Hamilton for much of the race.

    We'll see.

    Where's Kubica going to go?

Kubica is fast but doesn't seem to be able to develop a car... williams (after Nico replaces heikki in mclaren)? renault (after alonso goes to ferrari)?

in other news, felipe baby supposedly walking and talking. asked his wife who won the race and after hearing hamilton + kimi second exclaiming "that was my race!". attaboy!

I'm not sure if that's a legitimate gripe or not given the restrictions on testing this year. Seems like just an awful lot of luck involved in car development this year.

Could anyone could improve the dog of the car they gave him this year? He's probably better able to do so for a differnet team than just plugging in a younger gun or a Glock. Fisi, Trulli, Heikki ( I really thought that guy would buge ).....

Bet he's in the top 4 or 5 drivers, who might be available, list of any team right now.

I agree. I've always thought he has potential, that's why I own his hat (attached here). after the functioning alcoholic that only drives when he feels like it, Kubica is my favourite.

alonso, however, is the only one who consistently shows improvement with his car in the last two seasons.
