Yep and he had to work his tires too hard to hold off Webber and Button for so long. When they got by you could clearly see he was struggling for grip/traction.

Hopefully this drive will put his head in the right place and finally get his un-retirement back on the tracks.

i think montreal, unfortunately, comes but once a year and maybe once in a lifetime (kubica in 2008 comes to mind, alesi in 1995 too).

i hope schumacher does better, although i disliked him when he was winning. he had a clean race.

kubica's injuries are healing up (nsfw, somewhat graphic if you know the situation):

Jenson's my favorite driver so it was awesome seeing it all transpire. The thing I can't believe is the number of pit stops he took, coming back into the race in last place, then winning.

Speaking of Lemans, I can't believe Audi won after losing 2 cars and having 3 Peugeots chasing them.

FYI, the movie Senna has finally opened in theaters in the U.S. All the reviews say it is most excellent. I haven't seen it yet, but a group of us plan to see it the night it opens in Santa Fe. The opening dates are listed on the movie's page on the book of face:

a dfv, but you knew that. the v6 era will be great

    here he is: http://b.f1-facts.com/ul/a/3131

"the pinnacle of team tyrell". it appears that the car from the above vid was smashed to bits shortly after this was filmed.

edit2: the whole race is on youtube, 2 hours worth, no announcers, lots of whiny noise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhI7ah4nKwQ

will the V6 era be as loud as early 80s turbo cars? those are deafening. can't imagine driving one.

    I mean't Jackie Stewart actually.

In regards that video I used to know Howden Ganley reasonably well in London back in the early 90s when he was building TIGA group C cars.

Instant headache just thinking about them.

They used to smell really good too. There was some crazy assed petrol in those things.

i was being sarcastic in the v6 comment...

i still like to listen to the 19krpm V10s from early last decade. loved the V12, but they never revved as high as the V10s. regardless of what the future brings, i'll be talking about v10s as the pinnacle of f1 noise.

if you've seen the all-electric toyota lapping the nurburgring you'll know what i'm talking about. now that's a whine even jackie can't outloud.

I saw it a few weeks ago - thought it was excellent. If you're an F1 fan, I'd highly recommend it.

Is Kimi really coming back? Lots of reliable journos are giving the pre-race/paddock gossip of his talks with Williams legs.

rumours are flying, yes. this article is a very biased analysis of kimi, though its conclusions aren't very appealing to me as a kimi fan:

would be really sad to have a lacklustre kimi back in f1
