    HELP!: Canon G7 related

My G7 died. It was working ok. Then "low battery sign" came on. Then Camera went dead. I recharged the battery to the extent as the green light cam on the charger. However, when I placed the battery in the camera...nothing. It still doesn't work. Any thoughts...similar experiences?

    That's odd.

Maybe the battery has lost its ability to hold a charge. Test it with a volt meter or try another battery in your camera. I think the G7 uses the same one as the Rebel XT, XTi, G9, and S30 to 80, if you know anyone with these cameras.

That would be my guess as well. LiIon batteries have a very pre-determined life and can only be charged XXX times before simply failing. Buy a $10 battery from Amazon.com (like this one) and give it a shot.

PS: I understand there are cheaper NB-2L replacement batteries, but this one is 1500mah (2x the OEM) and I have one - it works great.

yah give a new battery a shot. there's a chance though that the battery spiked and fried the camera. it should be under warranty still if that happened though
