    Mid-Summer Pow Plus Stupidity??

question: does the metal top underneath the top-sheet cover the entire ski??

my thought: slightly soften and slightly lighten up my pow plus by belt sanding off the top-sheet, and polishing the metal. think "blue steel"

would this damage the ski structurally??

    am i an idiot??

    carry on...

Try it and post pictures. I'm now intrigued as well. I do believe the metal covers the entire ski.

Unless you have the stuff to properly blue the steel, and even that won't help much against rust.

I'm fairly sure that the metal is side to side, tip to tail.

will make the ski a bit softer and lighter.

You think it is carbon or mild steel? Seems doubtful. You could seal it afetr you blue it.

I would think the heat would seriously weaken the epoxy and could lead to delam. issues, but then I again, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

It's true, you don't. As long as you keep it below like 170F the epoxy should be fine.

It is possible to cold blue steel anyway which would avoid the heat problem. A keen marksmen might have experience doing that. Bar paint what kind of sealants are there for steel?
