Anyone order flies online? Any recommendations or sites to stay away from? I always give local shops some business but I need a big haul right now. Yeah, I know I should tie my own, maybe this winter.

i have used Hills Discount Flies and blue fly cafe both had pretty decent quality flies. I tend to use the online discount places if im going on a trip and need a bunch of specific flies (baetis for the missouri for instance) and to bulk up on the basics, elk hair caddis, PTs, copper johns, that i'm too lazy to tie.
I think Blue Fly took a little longer to ship my order for a trip to the missouri once. but it got to my house in time for my wife (who came up the next day) to bring them up to me. you may want to make sure you have plenty of lead time.

I tie most of mine but the bigger dries and and when I feel lazy I just buy them. I do not know of anywhere online that has good flies for cheap. Sportsman Warehouse has good flies for .89, plus no shipping. That is pretty cheap. I always take them home and ZapAGap the heads.
I've had good luck with anglersdream.net. Most flies are $.59-.69. $2 flat shipping.
2Funky, we have a sportsman's retail store here in Bozeman and I have bought flies there a few times, mainly nymphs and streamers. Would you say the quality, specifically of dries, is better at sportsman's than most online outfits? Thanks for the other suggestions, I will check out those sites.
The quality at the Sportsman's, Idaho Falls, sucks balls...at least for streamers! Decent, ugly foam stuff....plenty of OK looking western patterns. Some of the nymph/emerger scud section is worth while, especially for .89 a fly.
yup, sportsman's streamers suck for sure. plus the biggest they stock is size 4.
i'd say both the links i posted have better flies than sportsmans, but if you are just looking to stock up on PTs or EH Caddis its not a terrible option. if you need to match a hatch and have a few versions (emerger, adult, spinner) you are better off ordering online or going to a good shop.
the tip of zapagap on the heads is a good one for any cheap flies though, they will last longer for sure.
