Help!! Any suggestions for Over Glasses Goggles?

Hey Guys, the season's coming up and I'm trying to find some decent over glasses goggles, but good pairs that aren't too bulky are hard to find. Any suggestions?

they got to be bulkey to fit the glasses inside but there are NOT many OTG goggles out there ... I only found 2 models in my little town

I got a set of these last season ,I got a big head ,a 54mm frame, they fit my head nice ,fit my helmet and my glasses fit inside the goggle .

They have good vision and the fan clears the fog pretty nice ,a AAA battery lasts about 4 days at the hill ,they are a nice goggle even after the battery dies but I pack an extra

you can also get the same gog without the fan for cheaper

this is good info, as I am considering such a set-up. I wear glasses everyday and I have been wearing contact lenses and regular goggles for skiing, but I really don't like wearing contacts. I might try the glasses in the goggles routine this season.

    Have you tried contacts?

Not trying to be a dick... but there are much better venting / distortion-free goggles out there. OTG goggles tend to get hot/steamy/foggy, and there's a definite distortion and reflection effect from having a lens in front of another lens.

Take it from someone who knows. Plus, if you crash/bail and your glasses come off with the goggles (which usually happens), you're fucked. Try contacts.

If you are stuck with OTG goggles, the Smith Turbos are absolutely the only way to go.

I got Lasik a few years ago because I didn't like contacts and couldn't stand the OTG thing anymore.

I have tried several OTGs and non-OTGs for use with glasses. If your glasses are not too big, the Smith Turbo/Prodigy will work pretty good. I gotta agree with the others here though... soft, daily wear contacts (I have astigmatism, too) are the way to go.

my father has graves disease, which means he needs to wear these specially designed thick prism glasses at all times in order to retain any field of vision whatsoever. we got him set up with smith turbo (with fan) and he loves it- he can actually ski now and and not have as many fog issues.

this was after we tried every google/glasses combo under the sun for him for about four years straight and had moisture/fogging with almost all except the smith turbo. highly highly recommend.

another vote for the turbo fans - contacts drive me nuts and in many conditions the glasses will fog with regular OTG goggles. I'm still contemplating lasik...

Though I mostly ski with contacts, I occasionaly use Scott Unlimited OTG goggles. The glasses can get foggy sometimes, but the amplifier screen rules, IMO. And they're cheap.

(Actualy, and I don't know why, the Scott Amplifier over Vuarnet Skilynx glasses does wonder for my eyes in flat light. As goofy as it may seems.)

I have used the Oakley L frame for several years and it works for me. They are not bulky but have never interfered with any glasses I put them over. This arrangement is not entirely trouble-free, but I have learned to deal with it. When I put the goggles on after a climb with them off, the cold glasses will fog up until their temperature is the same as the air in the goggle. I try to put them on somewhat before I need to rip, and I may pull the goggles back and wipe the inside face of the lenses of the glasses (the only place that fogs) with my finger. I have gotten good at that. When I start moving and air moves through the goggles, the problem is gone.
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's trouble, a man alone

    Agreed.
I got the Smith Turbo OTGs this past season and what a difference compared to trying to not fog with regular goggles. Now I want Lasik.

Another vote for smiths with a fan. But I have an astigmatism and I wear contacts for skiing. I wear glasses most of the time, but when it comes to sports, contacts rule. Go see an eye doctor and see if there are some toric lenses that will work for you. If not, get smiths.

Besides contacts bugging my eyes I tried the toric lenses years ago ,the vision JUST wasnt good enough IMO ,I couldnt read the samll street sign.

At work I played around with a mechanism for over an hour and didnt fix it ,I came back 2 days later with glasses and I seen the problem in 1 minute ...it was totally due to compromised sight

so if you have can't do contacts the smiths are the best OTG solution it would seem ,note there are several models of turbofan but only the KNOWLEDGE is actualy OTG ,I bought it online without trying and everything fit great

I have the same issue with contacts irritating my eyes, I've never been able to wear them. Also not a big fan of OTG goggles, they always seem too bulky and lacking peripheral vision.

I ended up taking my goggles (crowbars) to my optometrist and having them match a set of frames that would fit under the goggles and not scratch the lens.

In the end I bought a pair of Calvin Klein CK550 frames with AR lenses, no UV or scratch coatings. A little catcrap on the glasses at the beginning of the day and I've never had issues with fogging.

how long did you try contacts for?

For 3 years I couldn't even get them in, and was almost screaming when they were in.

As soon as I started skiing I realized that glasses fucking suck hardcore in every way for skiing. I made the contacts work for a week and now I don't notice them. Ever.

    ^^^

Its not just contacts, my eyes are really sensitive. If I get an eyelash in my eye it goes bloodshot all day, eye drops, bright light, doesnt matter, cant have anything in my eyes.

And with the correct frames, you wont even notice glasses under your goggles.

The thread is "what OTG goggle ?" not "y'all should get contacts ... they're great!"

I think by now anybody who is wears glasses has tried contacts, I know I can't wear them and a certain percentage of the population is gona need OTG .

I don't get the too bulky thing ,if they don't fit inside my helmet opening then they are too bulky... other wise who cares ?

where glasses really suck for me is WW kayaking in cold water ... they always fog
