Mark your calendars, for the Avalanche Jam

Ok, Colorado TGR readers, time to mark your calendars!

The third annual Avalanche Jam, hosted by the great guys at Backcountry Access (BCA), will take place from 5 to 10 pm on Friday, September 10th, outside the American Mountaineering Center in Golden Colorado. The Avalanche Jam is a fundraiser for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC). Last year the Avalanche Jam netted over $10,000 for the CAIC.

This years headlining band, "Hit and Run," is a popular Colorado bluegrass band. Bring your dance shoes! In addition to the music, the event will include dinner by Trappeda's Gourmet Cafe, beer from New Belgium Brewery, an outdoor industry demo village and door prizes. Donors to the silent auction include BCA, Marmot, MSR, Lowe Alpine, Patagonia, Burton, Lowa and Black Diamond -- and the list is growing daily.
Make sure you bring your checkbook, there were some really killer deals on gear last year.

For ticket and sponsorship information call BCA at (303) 417-1345 or see http://www.avalanchejam.com after July 15th.

All of the Bulder CAIC staff will be on hand at the CAIC booth. So, make sure you drop by and say hello. You will be able to sign-up or renew your "Friend of the CAIC" membership that night.

    Cheers,
    Halsted Morris

    D,
Yea, I'll be at ISSW. You and girlguide going along with the other suspects?

I will be up north again next winter. In the meantime I got heli plans in August (keeping my fingers crossed, it all works out).

    Cheers,
    Halsted

One of my favorite events of the year. Will not miss it. Ended up getting a sweet deal on my loveland pass through the silent auction last year.

Here is a little update on the Avalanche Jam.

The Avalanche Jam website is now up and working. You can go to it, to check the event details, directions to the event and how to buy tickets on the website. You can buy tickets either on the web or at local Front Range retailers.

We would really like to boost the number of folks attending the Avalanche Jam, this year. Please take a moment and send your friends the website address. This is a party not to miss!

Killer Deals! I like the sound of that. I'll try to make it. If anyone is heading from downtown Denver, let me know.

We are pleased to announce that Friends of Berthoud Pass will have an information table set up at the Avalanche Jam this year!

We're looking forward to meeting all of you, and are grateful to the CAIC for allowing us the opportunity to help spread the word about happenings at the Pass.

CAIC provides the invaluable snow information that keeps us all safe and informed throughout the ski season. We urge you to make it a priority to contribute each year, either through the Avy Jam, the Telemarktips Corn Harvest fundraiser, or directly through CAIC.

    See ya at the Jam!
