Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

One of my barn cats just had a seizure at least I think that is what happened.

He was walking down the barn aisle then suddenly made a noise spun around and ran into the feed room. He was totally puffed up. He ended up on his side twitching. It lasted maybe 30 seconds then there was a break and another 5 second twitch.

I wrapped him I a blanket and held him until he started acting aware again.

Just trotted up the stairs to the hayloft.

Now he's walking around with his brother. Getting a drink of water. Being normal.

    Thoughts?

He seems fine now. He and his brother are in their heated house in the hayloft.

I'm obviously not in the barn all the time so I've no idea if this is the first.

It all happened so fast. He was acting like he'd touched a live current. He was standing on a rubber mat and the only close electrical current was a heated water dish for the cats. It's all plastic with the warming element fully enclosed plus it is plugged into a GFCI outlet and it's on a rubber mat.

I’m always amazing what our kitty will eat. Almost like they have labrador in them. Strange insects and arachnids, veg matter, inorganics. Etc. Maybe kitty got into some fermented grain? Some spider egg sac? Sounds like some kind of neurological effect for sure, but what could have caused it?
Hope it’s a once and done.

Took Romeo to the vet today and he got a clean bill of health (did blood draw and ran tests). He'd even lost 2lbs from when I took him in last Fall (different vet at same clinic fat shamed him and tried to scare me with fatty liver disease so I switched him to Blue Wilderness Weight Control kibble).

Vet said sometimes older cats develop epilepsy and to monitor him

^^^happy to hear the vet couldn’t find anything.
When our cat Ninja had a seizure back in like 2010 a quick blood test said kidney failure. Sent him over the rainbow bridge the next day.

Didn’t want to bring this ugly option up earlier and cause you unneeded stress. Again, happy to hear it doesn’t appear to be life threatening.

Our 14 year old cat has this runny nose that turned into sinus congestion and she basically can't breathe. It's so sad. Antibiotics and steroids aren't helping. We're left with trying to give her some hot steam by running a hot shower when she's in the bathroom, and some drops on her nose, but she's stopped eating anything other than crunchy treats. Bloodwork all looked good, her lungs sound good. If anyone has any ideas, our vet is out of them. So sad, she's such a rad cat

We've had similar issues with our 14yo FM. We were self medicating and got poor results. Last December we went with shots of methylprednisone and convenia. She's been less congested and sneezy now. Almost no symptoms

Facial expression is a dead giveaway. My wife calls it resting scowl face.

Like I said, my wife calls it resting scowl face. She coined it one night at dinner. She sits across the table from me. And only one of us is a Vermonter.
