Kittens on the loose! Finally started letting the horde out. They all seem to be enjoying nature, everyone that is except Max. He's NOT an outdoor cat but that's okay because he's got a nice view from the window where he feels safe and secure from all the scary stuff outside and if that gets to be too much he hides under the sideboard or bed. LOL! Poor sweet Max. He's a snuggle bunny not a ferocious lion.

My cat was attacked or chased by something last night and ripped out all of his front claws and broke his jaw, likely in a fall while trying to escape. Took him to the vet and they seem to think he should recover fine, but that was a bit scary.

He's currently just sitting around with a dazed look and a swollen face, but he's already eating.Click image for larger version.

Poor guy, ripped out claws is common. Mr. Kitty leaves a claw or 3 in another animal from time to time.

But a broken jaw? That does not sound good.

Apparently its a fairly common injury in cats and it could be a lot worse, his jaw didn't surgery which a lot of them do.

Took little Idris to the vet on the 5th of July to get wormed. The walk all the way to the front door was covered with bloody paw prints. Vet said it had been a really bad night/morning with lots of emergencies from the fireworks. He was a bit frazzled and weary looking.

Idris waiting patiently for the doc:

Alright fine! I'm just going to leave this sideways picture here. I've saved it and re-saved it which has worked with other photos. I don't understand what is going on with uploaded pics. I've never had this issue before a couple months ago.

2 bats in the house the other night were no match for Scout. I’m not sure why she felt inclined to bring one into our bedroom - alive! - in the middle of the night, but it sure was a hell of a way to wake up. I was able to rescue it and get it safely outside. There was another downstairs that I also put outside. Both were gone the next morning, so hopefully they both recovered from their adventure!

Not sure where you are at but you might want to be cautious handling bats and make sure your cat is up on vaccinations. Washington state has had 10 or so bats test positive for rabies this year.

Washington state finds more rabid bats this spring, here's what to do if one touches you

    NH.
I didn’t have to handle either bat. One I trapped under a small, up-turned trash can and slid a folder underneath. The other was stuck in a little copper bucket-type thing. Our cats are both indoor cats, so I’m not sure if they’ve had rabies vaccinations or not. If not - they will now for sure...!

This sure is a happy cat. Now that he’s secured a food source he enjoys every moment.

Yeah but he gets lonely when everyone else is out. He's venturing out right now but he's not 100% sure it's safe. Hanging in the mud room (double door - one from kitchen to mud room then from mud room to outside. Baby steps.... baby steps.....

    ^^^ LOL

Hey my kitten went up the tree after a squirrel. Meowing up 25’ there now.

Maybe Elon Musk can design a special cat capsule drone or dirigible to rescue my cat.

    Kitty Stoke

She made it to the branch above and chased the squirrel out onto the branch. Where apparently there is a bluebird nest because the bluebird dive bombed the squirrel several times which made it jump 10’ to a lower branch and the off onto the fence.

The kitten is still up the tree branch meowing.

My experience has been the cat will not come down, someone will have to go up there and get it.
Last time I did that had to stuff the cat into a pillow case so it would not scratch the crap out of me.
I waited three days before I went up after him. - He was not going to climb down

It might sound corny but 25' to 30 feet up.
Call the fire department they have the gear and experience to deal with that
