Today's the day! Pick them up later this afternoon. I have a bit of emotion going on - missing Bratwurst, he's only been gone a couple weeks, but excited about the new little ones. It's not like Bratwurst can ever be replaced but these guys need a home so.....

Sorry for the delayed update - out of town guests and much kitten set-up stuff going on.

Finally came up with names last night. I had been running through all the great names you posted up and a few of mine own but nothing was really sticking until last night when one of the boys named himself and the rest followed. This particular kitten is the runt and he's had a bit of an issue with his eyes - nothing horrible just a little runny and puffy (been using Vetericyn ophthalmic gel on him which is helping but he may need something from the vet - kittens have a wellness check on Thursday). Anyhoo... because of his puffy eyes he put me in mind of Marty Feldman and ta-da! He had a name! He's a cutie and really scrappy - the name fit him perfectly. So I had one name... needed three more.... decided to continue with "M" as my naming convention so I have:

and the ever-talkative Meghan:




They showed up with a bit of flea issue - ick. So everyone had baths. Besides that and some goopy eyes they are adjusting nicely which is more than I can say for my old cat Alice. She has moved herself back out to the shop where she used to live when she first came here from the neighbor (she has a plush set up out there and can go in & out as she pleases. Used to be a total outdoor cat). I've been trying to lavish attention on her and give her treats but she's not buying what I'm selling. I thought she would do better as she's had litters herself and the kittens are so small (figure they are just 5 weeks as their eyes are still blue). Sigh. I feel bad about Alice being upset. I think it may have more to do with the fact that the kittens are sequestered in the laundry room where her food and litter box used to be. Hopefully she'll get over it. She hated Bratwurst too when he first decided to move to the house from the barn but she got over it and they became fast friends. Who knows what she thinks - Bratwurst disappears and four interlopers show up probably thinks I'm after her next.

I'm about to give up the quest for Russian Blues and just go get some whatevers from one of the local shelters. Kids are harassing me into it.

Also, my daughter is now taking lessons @ Gold Creek since her trainer, Dora, just moved there. Your old hoofing grounds?

Just when you think it's time to give up..... have you been checking Craigslist? My GF got her cats from there and there was no paper signing.

craigslist has lead me down 3 different scam attempts for Russian Blue kittens.
Whenever that stuff gets weird ("I've moved", suggested transport services, the usual slimebag h00haw) I smell scam.

I may try again for something more generic.
