You can't go wrong with the Lake Plateau. You might want to try the Lamar or Slough Creek as well cause you'll be in the neighborhood.

It's tough to wrong with any of the lakes up there. A few do not hold fish though. Set up camp around a cluster of lakes, (you'll see plenty of options on a map). There is always the option of a pack/fishing trip in Jellystone....

Can't speak from personal experience, but we were hiking the Pine Creek area last weekend and passed several parties packing in gear who said they heard that things up there are supposed to be pretty hot right now. They made it sound good enough that I'm contemplating heading back up there either this weekend or next week mid-week to check it out.

Thebigeast...PM me and I'll pass along what little details I've been able to gather.

i've been talking to my buddies and they seem to be talking about upper and lower aero lakes, and rough lake around the granite peak area....the aero lakes appear to be some of the bigger lakes up there. thanks for the other options though

Hit Lower Aero at the right time and it will be a fishing experience you'll probably never forget. I was up there a couple years ago catching fish every 5 casts, and the smallest one I pulled in was 17". Rough Lake can be fun too, there's a lot of brookies at the inlet and you'll get a few grayling if you're lucky. There was one other fairly good-sized lake just a couple miles closer to Granite that looked like it could be good fishing, but I haven't tried it out yet. And there's always the option of fishing the myriad of lakes out on the plateau past Rough Lake too, I've always wanted to try that.

Try climbing Glacier or Villard peak while you're up there too, it's worth the trip!

At the off chance you haven't gone on this trip yet, pick up the guide book "Fishing the Beartooths". It's $15 ish and will provide you with EVERYTHING you need to know plus a lot more. If you have a specific area in mind and can't find the book PM me and I'll read up on it and give you the Cliff notes version.
