Waiting Period for New User Registration?

Given the asshattery of epic proportions, and the ineffectiveness of administration to actually permanently ban someone, is it too much to think about a short waiting period for your registration to be reviewed and your new alias to be created?

Just a thought.

Unless there is some better method of enforcing a ban of which the Suited One may avail himself.

downside = new user must wait a few days before posting their newb/jong questions (not a bad thing to deter the jongs, is ti)

Craven Morehead aka badgerman, etc. created thirteen new users yesterday, and they're all gone now, along with everything they wrote. I'm not sure a waiting period would have made it any easier for me to deal with him/it.

Almost all of his posts come from Verizon Wireless addresses. The addresses trace back to San Jose, but I'm not sure that's meaningful, depending on Verizon's network architecture.

If he was an alias for a longstanding member, I'd say so.

Last night Kraven came back with a new alias, and was quickly nuked, as you know.

There are a lot of new accounts. This place almost doubles in size every year.

I've dealt with at least 7 new Craven alias today on top of what the suit got yesterday. The dude has no life. I may have missed some though so if anyone sees anymore, please feel free to PM me or the suit. Craven is no longer welcome here. And that has only been said about a handfull of people, he should feel special.
