    Wink Swimmer

    Earned my first swim tonight.

Missed my boof (which happened to be my first attempted boof) and ended up penciling into a hole. About 8 attempted rolls on the boily pit later I pulled the deck, hung onto my gear and flushed out.

I did get a few brief surfs on prior to the swim and a good 2 dozen combat rolls.

    photographic evidence may follow...

What river? getting worked and trying to hit half a dozen rolls sometimes feels satisfying.

The Willow at 'Freak my Beak'.

Satisfying would have been hitting any one of my attempted rolls .

I get the feeling the 'FmB' feature and I will have several more encounters

Freak my Beak rarely holds anybody ,in the days of longer boats we would sub under and come up at the canyon wall

you want to be pointed directly at the left shore going over that drop and hit the eddy on the left just below the drop ... aim to tag the rock forming the beak on river left and you will likley be perfect.

I seen my kid get sideways in there and come up paddle on downstream side which automagicaly flushed him in the upright position...I'm thinking you were likely trying to roll coming up on the upstream side .

that stretch is always good for swimming beers , we had one guy nicknamed "the bartender "and that stretch below the drop was named "happy hour" in his honor ,the bartender tried to get that drop declared a "free swim" zone

I managed to keep my shit together in spite of hardy's attempt to bump my (Ian's) boat loose.

Still I bought beers (although not molson)

Thats why I have the utmost respect for hosers, they have their priorities straight. I will never defile a beer by pouring it in a stank assed boot.

I thot about this today ,don't you folks down there pay WAY less for beer so you don't care much if you pour it in a rancid Bootie?

A case of corona is 22$ OR if newb swims , drops all his gear and they all hit the BX on the way home ... buying rescue pints for whomever recues Duncan's sorry ass / his boat /his paddle is gona shoot off most of a 20$ bill

in any case based on duncans skiing and drinking I have no doubts he will make a fine paddler ...that and he is in with the wrong crowd

I hate molson too but if thats all thats goin around I just drink it with me eyes closed
