    Unhappy

This is sad on so many levels.

Bottom line, a man lost his life to the hands of another man.

    That in itself is horrible.

So tragic. I saw the interview on CNN with his family pleading for his life--hard to watch.
My Dad spent a lot of time in Saudi Arabia on business just months ago--no longer. All americans really ought to get out of there if they value their safety.

Calm down there tiger. The dude CHOSE to go over there for MORE MONEY. No he's not killing people, but he is a mercenary of sorts. I really have a hard time mourning for people that choose to go into a war zone to chase more coin. He knew the risks, but chose dollars instead.

Let's try to calm down here.
I am certain that none of us could have done a thing to affect the outcome of this tragedy, so there is no need to spit vitriol on each other.
With all respect, I think that if we are going to discuss this we need to do our best to separate the discussion 2 ways: emotional - to share our sadness and condolences, or detached - to discuss the way tragedies like this come to be via foreign policy, religious zealotism, poor judgement, whatever.

What we sure as hell don't need is fight provoking meaness, thoughtless chest beating, or personal attacks. In other words, let's try to keep it civil.

Mr. Johnson's death is particularly frightening to me as my step father frequents the middle east on business, and as a Naval vet is a prime target for this kind of terrorism. My thoughts go out to his family and my hope is that the citizen's of this planet wholly reject this barbarism and never let it rear it's ugly head again.

I am sorry but his blood is on Bushes hands along with the 800 something US military and the thousands of Iraqi dead. Bush started the war and the hatred twards the US came from that, they are simply fighting back the only way they can.

I am waiting for someone to tell me the good behind this mess Bush got us in.

that is the #1 thing that pisses me off about this war. I have always wanted to travel to the Mid. East...now I wonder if it will ever be safe for westerners...thank you Bush.

Oh and did anybody think this guy was actually going to live? Sucks he got caught in the middle.

It's really fucking sad and hurts me so bad that people have to die for this bullshit non-justified war.

I'll wait until they find his body and/or head before getting too riled up over it.

In the meantime, I'll keep praying.

I have quite a few friends there myself. I hope your family can stay safe man.

Hey Monkey. The guy just didn't go over there. He had lived there for years. I find the arguement of his working on helicopter engines making him an merc very poor.

Hmmm. an American taken hostage, to be killed if demands aren't met. Step in Bush...Oh wait, he's out campaigning with a margarita in hand and a tax payer check for another conglomerate.

Sorry to see this happen but when you have the world's strongest military invade another country that has to fight with weapons that same country gave them back in 1920 (being sarcastic) how else do you expect them to defend themselves and show thier point?

This is something that will continue for eternitiy. So Bush should stop stating that we will battle the terrorists until the end. I wonder what the reaction would be if one of Bush's daughters were taken captive? I'm guessing he would have the whole world either looking for the captors or breaking the check book open with plenty of 0's written after the 1.

Steep.. I have to agree with you about Religion being the root of this evil...especially when a Christain president of the most powerful country in the world says,"God is on our side."

I bet that went over well with all the Arabs in the world

It's not religion persay. It's a groups perception of that religion and their twist upon it. But mostly it is a group that is using religion as an excuse to gain power and profit.

Islam is actually a very peaceful religion. God/Allah said: Thou shall not kill. That is in the Koran as well.

yes mr brk, i'm going to israel to blow myself up as soon as my visa comes through.

i don't see how one can sleep at night after working on better ways to kill people all day. and hell, he could've done it from the US.

i am upset by all deaths, but when fucking idiots like this truth guy blame a God that millions of peaceful people adore, it pisses me off.

Actually Iraq got most of it's weapons from Russia, France, China, and the former Czech rep.

And from what I understand there were up to 15000 Saudi security personel going almost door to door trying to find the guy.
