SA New Bro Beta Testers Needed

Since I'm out for the southern winter, we're looking for some beta testers to ski PM Gear's new 186s, 188s, and 196s. Looking for people heading south around August 20 or later. Preference will be given to current or past Bro owners and long time maggot bros and bro-ettes we love and trust. We'll be looking for detailed feedback and, of course, photos of the skis in action. If interested, post here, and I'll get back to you. MD9 is working up a new 186/196 topsheet that we'll prolly be posting here soon.

    This ski:

Thanks for all the enthusiasm, you guys. But the criteria set out above delineates who I can do this with best for the ease of all concerned. If someone takes them down, they'll have demo binders and, hopefully, you'll all run into each other. Hugh Conway has been profiled to fit the bill perfectly. AKturnanburn - you stopping over in the lower 48? I'd love to put all of you on them. Hopefully, someone can take some down and y'all will cross paths.

    FUKKING KNEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

eldereldo - the brocker list is growing.....get on it now for early delivery.
The new skis are the 186 and 196 brockers (they get a whole new name) and a redesigned 188 that will be insanely hybrided with that sweetass 179/183/192 sidecut and a splash of what we learned while prototyping the brockers. Just those three models, but I'm quite excited to build them.

Kellie - when do you leave? You gotta get on the brockers, girl.

    Boris??

Yeah, I been holdin out. The design has me sitting on pins and needles because I gave md9 some pretty specific parameters to work within. That means if it sucks, it's my fault. At least as far as I'm concerned. A couple maggots' input played a part in pulling together some of the pieces. We got a little zen. I hope it works.

    Prolly a long time. Sorry.

No, not even. pechelman's still working on the cad so we can knock out the cores and bases and get them done. Think brocker tip, just a touch of shovel flare (flair?) touch of rocker, 103/104 waist. A one skrocker quiver?
    We'll see.

Let's talk, TU. I think the pin line was recently ascertained on the brockers.
    I know you'll deliver.

As a side note, Ingrid B is going to be at Portillo that same week, she looks like she could definitely use some bro love.
You have no idea what a pain in the ass it is to ship stuff into SA, Boris.
That's why I'm looking for people to haul them there and pass them around.
Tell Ingrid I send my Bro love via you.
I know what you're thinking having read that.
    BWAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Won't happen.
But I do have a pair of the super-rockered Brockers I can send you, dude.
Ultimate deep pow weapon.....cause I know you'll kill it on them, you fukking big air camp stud.
Treadway hosed you so good on that huck.

Again, the potential for a hangup on that end makes shipping not worth it.
I'm cutting this close because I'm the only here now who can press until the rest of the crew arrives from Europe in September (international crew - Welsh, Japanese and French). StroupSkier has been prepping materials all summer and we're stacked floor to ceiling with cores and bases ready to go, but I can't even teach Jason how to press until I can stand on my bum leg. Hopefully, that will be August 1.

So, once we get there, we'll be hauling ass to get these skis finished and off to SA crews before they depart. For those of you down there, maybe we can coordinate some meets from the board to pass the skis along to anyone who wants to ski them.

AKturnandburn - What about you? Stopping over in the lower 48 on your way?

Lhasa means 'place of the gods' in Tibetan
How descriptive, since the gods of mythology often resided on the mountain tops

We can always flip tops to other skis if they fit lengthwise.

Damn, you guys are workin me.....
I'll see what I can do, but I like a 2 week turnaround time with a little wiggle room. If I can stand up on my gimp knee by August 1, I can show Stroup how to press and get him rolling, then I'd come in the following week to finish. I assume, if it's tight, Portillo has a stonegrinder and you can get the final tune there. Maybe I could overnight to one of the LA mags and they could hook up with you at the airport, which means you'd have to check your ski bag into LA to load it there and recheck it to SA. Hope you got room in it...

Just got a CD of shots from Mike Leake, so I'll throw some stoke in here....

Thanks, Dibs. I just sent a mail to md for a couple minor changes before we print the new tops and your suggestion has been incorporated to land behind the heel piece.

We can do anything with them, from flex to cambers. We settled in on the best all around camber, but the competitors like them stiffer for hard bumps at high speed. We can also adjust the rocker heights. We spent all last season dialing it in. It's a piece of cake to adjust flex. The shape skis great in any iteration of it, all the way from our 2mm positive camber version to the full r/r version. The base profile is extremely similar to the S7, but they are two very different skis.

How many pair will you have room for?

Stroup Skier and skinny kid will be pressing The SA-bound 186s by the end of the week. 196s next week. Even the topsheet printers commented that they were fairly blown away by the look. And they press a lot of peoples tops.

MD9 - people are taking notice, bro.
You are rapidly becoming more widely acknowledged as THE SHIT in ski graphics.
    thanks, md mang.
