    Ocoee River kayaking

    Here are a few shots from today at the Ocoee Whitewater Center in Tn.

    Those are really sweet. I was thinking about shooting some whitewater myself, up in Idahole, before too long.

    I see that these shots were taken with a D200/Nikkor 180mm, matrix metered, and a -0.67 EV dialed-in. Were you getting blown highlights in the water at 0.0 EV?

    Thanks...Yeah, the first couple had blown highlights in the white water. I was being lazy and not shooting manual. I dialed in a little -EV and shot a few. Most were underexposed by about a 0.5 EV. I was shooting NEF, so I bumped them up a little in NX.

    BTW, I was using the old 180mm f2.8 that smmokan had for sale a few months ago. I was quite happy with its performance. All of these were shot at f4. Focus was spot on except for a few times when it focused on the water spashing up closer to the camera.
