    Are the Googles broke?

Anyone else having any issues with Google searches? All other sites (and search engines) work just fine and load appropriately, but whenever I try to search via the Google box on Firefox or Safari, or try to load google.com, it just hangs. In some instances, it does finally load, but takes excessively long.

It's also happening on my wife's computer (both on Macs), so it isn't just isolated to me.

If this is still happening to you, try the usual brute force cure for 90% of what ails your computer(s) of rebooting & also resetting your router...

Mr. Technology - I'm surprised you even know what I was talking about when I referenced Google.

Got any other breaking news? I hear now that there are these things that work as both cell phones and music players. Way too crazy to be true...

Same problems here. All google sites, on mac or pc, are intermittently not available to very, very slow. My hunch is that there is either 1) a regional dns issue or 2) a bresnan issue (my internet provider).

Every other site I've tried is working fine, and it doesn't appear that the issue is on google's end.

Glad to hear that it isn't isolated to just my house. I'm on Bresnan, too, so looks like the issue is definitely on their end.

Just talked to Bresnan and they are aware of the problem, which apparently is twofold. Customer support tried to tell me that there was some sort of issue with an MS update from a few days ago (I'm on a Mac, so this didn't concern me) that has since been resolved, but also that "google has a server down and is working on fixing the problem". I guess this could explain the regional outage.

Somehow I doubt that Google having a server down is going to make a gnat's ass worth of difference to whether you can access it. AFAIK, Google has so many servers that they don't even know how many they have...

Please use Yahoo for your searches, then click on the sponsored search links. I don't care what you look up or whose ads you click, just please, do lots of clicking.
