    Giant NRS 2?

I've got a line on a new 2003 Giant NRS 2 for about a grand. Anyone ridden one or have any experience with one? I've read mtbr and it seems the biggest concern is with chain suck that most people resolve with taking a few links out, the wheels which is easily solved, and the suspension getting stiff under hard braking ala down hill.

    thoughts?

Great relatively light XC bike. That's a pretty good price for a 2 as well.

The rear suspension does stiffen under hard braking, but it's not too bad.

    I say "go for it".

Two of my friends have NRS's, and they both like them. But it is a short-travel XC bike, and Giant's XC racing platform.

What kind of riding do you like to do? If you like to go up hills as much or more than going down, then I'd get it. If you like to go down hills more than going up, then I don't think it'd be the best bike for you. It's neither plush nor forgiving on downhills.

Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

SLCF, most of my rides are the type where I do just as much climbing and descending. I'm not too concerned about the short travel because I'm coming from a rigid and I plan on getting something more plush for more downhill action in time.

thanks bagtagley, I somehow missed that thread.
