It's on.
I should want to cook him a simple meal, but I shouldn't want to cut into him, to tear the flesh, to wear the flesh, to be born unto new worlds where his flesh becomes my key.
Knox killed it round 1 with a 9.8 and 9.9. Highest heat score for a J-Bay comp. One of the competitors had a 10 (Parko?).
The Billabong contest site had a Round 1 recap up to show plenty of good rides.
Brocktoon: Joe Foss? That guy was a bad man.
Hung out w/ Rusty last night in Honolulu. That guy is also a bad man.
Putting the "core" in corporate, one turn at a time.

Yeah! Shit, man, you are a globe-wandering motherfucker. I thought you were in Scotland or Seattle or Guam or Argentina or something!
Joe Foss was indeed a bad man. I just love the facial hair and jaunty Motor-T headwear as well. It runs so counter to the current anal-retentive Marine Corps ethic.
Hope you and Rusty got to grab a few waves as well. I'll be out there in a couple weeks as well. It will be great to catch up with him.
When's the next time you'll be taking a boat out of SD?
I should want to cook him a simple meal, but I shouldn't want to cut into him, to tear the flesh, to wear the flesh, to be born unto new worlds where his flesh becomes my key.
You guys check out today's heats. Checkout Slater in Round 3... He absolutely KILLED it. Round 4 was not too shabby either.
As those biltong biting bastards would say, "shot bru, it's absolutely cooking down there at supers, lakka!"
Some rad surfing being thrown down for sure. I'm calling a Jeremy/Jordy final, Flores for the win. Some of the big names may have peaked too soon, but then there's Slater. FKNA!!
Whatever happens, the waves look sick. On a scale of one to stoked, I'd say I'm pretty fucken amped that I'll be sinking a Bintang watching this shit go down in Bali next month.[/gloat]
TR to follow...
Slater takes it again. No one from the Top 44 has beaten him this year. His only heat loss was to a qualifier.
Four wins in five contests. Wow.
This is about the only sport I watch where guys routinely do shit I can't even comprehend.
Still no offical word from Rip Curl but apparently one of their PR people totally fucked up an interview and basically dropped the Bali bombshell. And yeah, a bunch of times the commentators at J-Bay referred to the next Tour stop in Bali. I'd have to assume Padang woulda been the call if the conditions were right but we'll have to stay tuned as to what happens with this fucken boat there. If not Padang then I would think Ulus would be the call- those boys at Rip Curl must have spent weeks finding out about this epic surf destination called Bali that nobody has ever surfed before
I arrive half way into the waiting period so hopefully it won't be over by then. I reckon watching the world's best get gratuitously barrelled, Bintang in hand, would be an attractive jetlag combatting manoeuvre...
TR to follow.
Slater...who would have thought
