Calling Current Client for Job Opportunity Tabu?

Noticed a current client has an opportunity listed on their website that matches my experience perfectly. Is it fair game to contact them directly rather than applying through website? My gut tells me it should be fine. Is it necessary to drop a comment about keeping my interest confidential or does that go without saying?

    thanks

call them- your current boss will want to have a friend on the inside anyway. Don;t tell him until you quit, of course..

I hate it when people end an e-mail with "Cheers."

Those people always end up screwing me.

    I don't mind it. Cheers!
I should want to cook him a simple meal, but I shouldn't want to cut into him, to tear the flesh, to wear the flesh, to be born unto new worlds where his flesh becomes my key.

Standard, but keep really hush about it. You need to not air any dirty laundry about your current employer when they ask why your looking.

, I use ping and Cheers all the time...and your right I use both of them to screw people.

No don't e-mail, give them a call and ask if they have a front runner/candidate in mind for the job, and ask if they would welcome an application from you. Look after yourself, if you would rather work there.
