    i want a backflip

Every year my skiing progresses but I still feel like a yahoo in the air. I want to dial in a backflip but the only time Ive ever done them is off diving boards with my back towards the pool. I would appreciate some advice on trying to take steps towards getting comfy with inverts.

Im thinking of maybe making the trip to park city this summer for some water ramp fun, but if anyone has a cheaper suggestion Im all ears

Wink point em' towards the sky

    1) Build a booter on a field of powder.
    2) Drink Jaggermeister
    3) Go off and point your tips towards the sky. While your laid out look up at your landing. Suck up your knees and land.

I post a pic later of Teton Pass back in the days of Neon.

Find a good jump with a huge incline, smoke a joint, drink a 6 pack, point your tips forward as you hit the jum yourself back and if you fuk up at least your're high and wasted and it will be funny.

Gainers off a diving board help A LOT. You want to take an almost running start, small hop, jump and do it. Powder booters work well to, but you must commit. Gainers will really help you with your air sense and allow you to feel what a backflip feels like, so you will land it on snow or at least not hurt yourself.

    Cheaper?

Try the Lake Placid water ramps, $15 a day and all you need is a current health insurance card/helmet/mouth piece. We should get a crew together to go up for a few days during a week in July!!

    Wink

Hey Phunkybunch. When are you going to weigh in here on how to do it

I've done 3 in my life. Each time I wiped out badly. Maybe you should find some pool training time for it.

Hey douchey, when are you going to weigh in here and take another shot at somebody who goes for it and occasionally crashes?

    Oh, right.

does it feel a lot different with all the extra weight attatched to your feet when you actually do it with skis on?

Yeah. The weight of the skis & boots plus the rotational inertia of the skis definitely slows down your rotation.

The upside is that you can use that weight to slow your rotation down (by "opening up" AKA "un-tucking") if you start to over-rotate.
