When the Circus Comes to Town (NSR)

Went for a little bike ride this morning, and what did I stumble upon a block from my house?

You sir, couldn't be more correct. I checked my info from a reputable source (the cleanest carny in the lot), and these are in fact the extremely rare American High Plains Elephants, found in very few places throughout our great country. The one in front was caught down in Four Mile on Thursday. He had been picking climbers off Bob's Rock and stealing their wallets (wicked gambling addiction, this one has...), so the forest service wanted him 'removed.' Good thing the circus was in town to take him, or else he would have ended up as a beautiful set of 88 keys...

Yeah, it was actually pretty lame. Their pen was about 10x15, and two elephants were stuck in there! They couldn't really walk at all. But you know what they could do?!! When little kids come around, the 'trainer' can yell at them and they'll lift their trucks in such a way that the kid giggles because the elephant is waving at him. Good trick, right? Justifies the small living quarters...

yeah - try being tied up to a chain and cinder block for the majority of your life.

boycott circuses that feature animals! (its ok to exploit the freaky people though)

Took my 5 and 3yr old to a Circus for their first time, they had a blast! It was so fun watching the reactions on their face. I sure kept my eye on the elephants though when we were able to go look at them. It would suck to have a few thousands pounds of pend up frustration cut loose on you and your kids.

I always root for the animal vs. the trainer. Go Roy's Tiger!
