    HID Bike Light?

I've been researching HIDs for riding at night. Before I drop some decent dough, I'd like to know your thoughts on HIDs. Anything I should know before buying?

So far I've narrowed it down to the Light & Motion ARC NiMH:

i've build mine myself ... its not really hard to do and the result is awsome. i can ride bike-downhill sections just like daytime.

if you really want bright light have a look at www.lupine.de however thats quite expensive. (and my homebuild is slightly better). another option is maybe hope or nightmare. but i dont know if those are available in the us.

How do you build your own? Be an interesting project, also thought one for my dualsport dirtbike would be cool. but the 250+ dollar price tag makes the decision easy.

Chainlove had this on last night. Click here

That looks like a great setup but I can't read german. Do you have an English write up?

Edit: nevermind, I found a good online language translator tool.

i've followed the instructions of this site: http://www-users.rwth-aachen.de/Tobi...set_luxttr.htm (its in german, i dont have the time to translate it at the moment, maybe in november or december)

however it might be hard to get some of the necessery applications, i guess you would have to search for soulutions there yourself. i can absolutely recommend the 50W light (helmet) and combine it with 2 fenix p3d (or p2d) (handelbars). I'll try to make a helmcam video and post it ... its absolutely amazing how much light you get.
