Hey everyone, so im going to be in Maine on the 20th and was wondering if there was a shower and bathroom near or on York Beach? Liquid Dreams is having a demo so maybe ill see some of you there! Thanks for the help

There is a bathroom at Short Sands. There is also a campground along Long Sands at the south end where the reefs begin. You may be able to poach.

Sea-Vu campground in Wells has a pay shower you can get into. It is right on Rt. 1.

Surfing wise - Ogunquit Rivermouth can be much better than York at low tide with a southerly swell. Long Sands is legal, but pretty mushy. Short Sands is more powerful, but usually off limits in summer.

No problem. If you get up to Wells for the showers, Wells Beach can be decent high tide surfing. Usually a few (300) hundred yards south of the jetty. Drakes Island is a bit softer waves, but some nice cobble stone reefs.

Kenebunk's Gooches Beach faces south, and can pick up NE swells. Great for N winds.

O Rivermouth is fairly protected from S-SE winds. All others generally take W wind.

Good Luck. Beautiful coastline, even if you don't get swell.

no shit, i live in york. i doubt that there were good waves yesterday though, and you had to deal with our 100 or so yard surf zone. i dont surf, but york has the dumbest rules when it comes to surfing.
