    Car GPS recommendations?

Wanted to get an in-car GPS for my dad's car for Father's Day(one that you can take in and out, not in dash). Anyone have recommendations?

I recommend he man up and not ask for directions. Yes, it infuriates the wife but I'll be damned if I'm going to admit I have no clue where we are.

    Oh, and garmin.

    Garmin Nuvi Series

Several different numbered models, regular/widescreen. I went with the regular screen because it fits better in the pocket and I rarely watch ski porn on my GPS

I've used a few but make sure you get one that can have the construction updates. Being on a roadtrip with one of those things going through some random detour at where the fuck are we with it going "Turn Left Recalculating Turn Right then Turn Left" to try and take you through a closed section of highway fucking sucks donkey dick.

Get a freaking MAP! Whatever happened to the days where all you needed was an atlas? With that said, my Iphone does pretty well

The 2 leaders for car models are Garmin and Tom Tom. Both have dash top mounted units in lower end entry level (no voice prompting) and higher end units that integrate voice for turn by turn instructions. Also screen size is another factor in the pricing of the models.
