It may have come out the same time as Blizzard, but the surfing in this flick is so insane and timeless. It's all about the fundamentals of power surfing, with none of this aerial crap.
Occy, Sunny, Ronnie Burns (RIP), Richie Collins to an insane soundtrack of TSOL, Social Distortion, etc.
The G-Land segment of The Occ and Ronnie Burns still holds its own, even by today's standards.

Totally agree. Great movie, unbelievable soundtrack. The Occy segment is outstanding, especially considering he had completely fallen off the map for a few years when this came out.
My favorite surf movie, period.

Yup.
Sickest of the sick when Mr. Hurley was trying to form the US team for them. Best thing is, I was just searching for an old tsol song and this was as close as I got. So, pretty work fella's, say hi to Kala, and remember, before Bob Hurely sold Hurley to Nike, he was the U.S. rep for Billabong.... So wear the shirt proud.

Oh, and Stash, you might want to check a calendar and go to Blockbuster and rent the "Occumentory"... way before he fell off the grid, even before Robbie Page got busted with acid in Japan........
