Babes in Bikini's that's a west coast thing. The few times I've gone surfing in the east and conditions were good has always been during a hurricane or Nor'easter. Not really hang out on the beach weather.

if you surfed as frequently as pu, you'd surf once every 3 months.Originally posted by Alkasquawlik
Don't argue about it, just do what Punani and I do. Do them both, very frequently.![]()
and i'm sorry we're "arguing" about it and making you all upset.

Methought you had me on ignore? Did I say something witty or was my preponderance of stupidity enough to remove myself from that list?

Yeah, I hate the weight of and the completely non-functional (when outside of the ski bindings) ski boots. I agree, surfing beats skiing.
surfing, esp in NorCal, is challanging, to say the least. I have picked it up and dropped it severasl times over the last 9 yrs here.....if i was living somewhere where the water temps were warmer and the waves a little smoother (SoCal), I think I would stick w/it more.......nothing like being a gaper to put things in perspective.....b/c thats what I am when I paddle out......a gaper.....i am athletic, played about every sport known to man at one point, am an avid MTB'er, road cyclist, ultimate frisbee player, mountainer and skier......but i can't seem to have that breakthrough ona surf board.....frustrating......

I love to surf and ski but for me nothing is better than Whitewater kayaking. Kayaking combines the best aspects of both surfing and skiing ...... you can surf waves and run big waterfalls in a kayak. Plus you are in water (a constantly moving arena) and in the mountains. There is no greater experience than running a big waterfall or surfing huge standing waves in kayak surounded by the beauty of the mountains. Check out the gallery in this link for some video footage and pictures of some kayakers running some big waterfalls and surfing some huge waves. It is amazing what is being done in a kayak today.

I spent this past weekend surfing epic waves on the dries of the new river in West Virginia. I had some surfs that lasted nearly ten minutes. And I was doing huge cut backs, 360 spins, and cartwheels the entire time.
Nothing that I have done can compare to the fun that I have while kayaking. Everyone should try it out.

LMAO...tuffy, me thinks you're just doing it wrong.
Whatever I'm doing at the moment is what I like the best. Whether it be surfing a sweet 20 foot curl in Hawaii or skiing a 55 degree face in AK with 3 feet of AK creamy puff or scaling an 8000m peak in the Karakoram or flashing a V10 at Huecos, or redpointing a 5.14c at Rifle, or onsighting Zodiac in El Cap, whatever I'm doing at the moment is what I enjoy the best.![]()
Amazed there are no pictures of the Reef Girls:

There.
French Fries!
Mmm... Reef girls.
Pro surfer's wives are the best you can get. Even hotter than pro golfer's wives.
This guys got it right. There are many things that I've gotten into the deep feeling that I get at the ideal times in skiing, most out in the wilderness on mountains, but also near shores. It's those moments that are really meaningful that matter, and it all depends on the person and what they are doing.Originally posted by Ireallyliketoski

I wish there were a better way to describe the meta-physical feeling I'm talking about, right now the best i got is 'deep'
and I wouldn't mind getting a 'deep' feeling with one of those reef girls ;D
Reef girls, yummy.
I have to say though that Surfing a bigish (>6ft) wave and rippin a beautiful untouched pow face are the only two things better than sex. There I said it.
Nothing else gives the giggly, holyshitthatwassomuchfunIcoulddieandbeok feeling. Cycling, climbing, rivers, etc just don't have quite the same touch my soul I'm the happiest man alive feeling.
So this debate feeds a bit into the eternal where do Mr and Mrs. comish want to live? Co, Or, or SoCal. right now Socal is winning solely based on the surfing aspect, but come the winter and I start doin that Mammy drive every weekend and I will definitely be yearning for something closer. A debate for another time.
He who has the most fun wins!
Surfing eh? Can you get drunk while doing it?
