specifically, in the American West. does it exist? does it matter? does it provide support or contradiction toward theories of global warming?

I do beleive it is caused by deliberate mispelling of Cheerleader and growing ventrays.
I wouldn't mind a little local warming right now.... It's almost June, and I have had my boat out once. It is about 50 right now. Tomorrow is supposed to get up to 65 or so...
I'm ready for some 80's.
"Shit, I'll choke her while she's cleaning, and I'll do it wearing a helmet cam mounted on a full-face helmet.
I'll have meatdrink9 do the lighting for the shot. He'll make it artsy as fuck." - Phunk
Shit dude, be glad you've had your boat out! The lake un-froze here 2 weeks ago and the water is still too far down to launch boats at either of the marinas, becuase the fucking snowmelt release was done a little bit too soon, and not much snow has melted to bring the lake back up yet.
It's gonna be a sad future for all the librozombies. Yet another Republican in the white house and their GLOBAL WARMINGS!!! mysteriously disappear. Stay strong, zombies, stay strong.
a semi-real answer: Certain regions are going to be more affected by global warming than others. I recall that the American West is going to get hotter and drier (read: the skiing will not be awesome). I think I read that in "Collapse" by Jared Diamond of all places, although that's not what the book is about. Good thing "teh global warmings" is fake.![]()
We heard you in our twilight caves, one hundred fathom deep below, for notes of joy can pierce the waves, that drown each sound of war and woe.
If some of the best times of my life were skiing the UP in -40 wind chill with nothing but jeans, cotton long johns and a wine flask to keep warm while sleeping in the back of my dad's van... does that make me old school?
"REHAB SAVAGE, REHAB!!!"
hot as fuck today in Boulder... and humid too
Weather.com says it was 50 here yesterday, that seems a bit low, but whatever it was I was chilling in the backyard wishing I had a new boat.
"Active management in bear markets tends to outperform. Unfortunately, investors are not as elated with relative returns when they are negative. But it does support the argument that active management adds value." -- independent fund analyst Peter Loach
Bother? yes of course, but keep in mind he is finding examples to fit his conclusion, rather then vice versa. I found this to be more true in Collapse. Most of my colleagues and profs just laugh at his mention.
Read it? Yes. Be critical? Most certainly. I would be interested to see what you think.
I think Geographic Determinism is simply a cop-out (and its sibling environmental) and has no where near the importance that Diamond and others have assigned to it.
Every book deserves to be read, regardless of what you think of it!
