TR: In the middle of nowhere on Van Island

We did some driving

We did some more driving

We found a river

We hauled some gear

We got ready

We did some paddling. Is this Central America? Are anacondas going to jump out and eat us?

We had some obstacles

We found a beach to ourselves

We went hunting for crab, and mussels

We had a pretty sweet camp spot

There were some sunsets

No surfing pics as the surf was big and like most places in the PNW the waves break so far out that it is useless to take pictures. Some of the best waves I've seen in the PNW.

tried calling you the other night. went straight to the machine.

were going to tofino next weekend and shortsands the week after. let me know.

Is that a Mitsubishi Delica I spy, Phil? I had one of those for three years in Japan and loved it. Great clearance, 4WD and you can change gear inside. I found it way more practical than an SUV. I assumed it would not be legal in the US but hadn't thought about Canada. Sweet.

Looks like a fun surf trip too.
