    Nevegal 2.35

Just looking for opinions on the Nevegal 2.35 MTB tires. Anyone out there ride em? I have the Hutchinson Spyders right now (2.1) besides the stickiness in the Nevegal is there anything else I should know? Using them on a DH bike. Thanks.

liking my 2.35 Nevegals for riding mostly everywhere. I can't fit the 2.5 Minions on my '01 frame so I run the 2.35 and have no problems with clearance. The one thing I have noticed about the Nevegals is that they seem to wear down quicker than some tires especially the Sticky compound ones
They work well on the sand/hardpan down here in Boise and do really well up in the pine needles/tree roots too so you should have no problems, but if you can fit the Minions I'd go with those

I run a Nevegal/Blue Groove combo on my bike in the 2.35 size. I don't have a bike quiver so I force them to do it all. It does seem like they wear fairly quickly, but I've ridden the chairlifts with them with no complaints. They corner predictably and I like the sticky compound.

I'm running a pair of 2.35 in the DTC on my rigid singlespeed, and have run the 2.5 sticky w/ DH casing on my big bike. Great tire for a lot of conditions- like others said, the stickys don't last long, but the DTC has been wearing pretty good. I'd definitely recommend the DH version for your big bike, the Kevlar bead version is light but has thin sidewalls.

I'm running the 235s on my singlespeed. Great traction on the hardpack, rocks plus dust on crust. They do wear kinda quick on the back tire atleast on the SS.

I think the 235 is soon to be released in tubeless also if not already.

I may go for the 2.5 on the front of my Intense in the future.

Long time Minion DHF fan here but newly converted to the Kenda Telonix. The Telonix corner fan-freaking-tastic and roll about the same as the DHF's. The Telonix roll slower than Nev's but are far superior in every other regard. Braking and climbing traction are also great on the Telonix compared to DHF's.

The 2.4's come in a "Iron Cap" wich is a midweight sidewall and the 2.2's are the standard Kenda sidewall, both are DTC (60A center knobs and StickE shoulder knobs). The 2.4's are huge and the 2.2's are bigger than 2.35 Maxxis tires. Kenda also makes a DH version in StickE rubber.

I wont comment on the wear issue since I've only had a few runs on my nevegals with the sticke compound. That said, I have been impressed. They seem to roll good and corner well. They don't seem as tough as my maxxis minions though. For the $ I woudl buy minions, but if you can get a deal on nevals go for it.

I'm liking the 1.5 ply Telonix much better than the Nevegals so far FWIW.

They look like they'd rule in loose - how are they on hardpack?

They have hard knobbies in the center and roll fast, and soft sticky rubber on the side knobbies. So they can feel a little squirmy on hard stuff (rock, etc.) if you really lean them over. But overall, I'm very happy with them.

Thanks. Have you spent much time on a minion DHF to compare it to the telonix? The minion's my current tire for hardpack to loose, I just wish it was lighter.

I used to ride Minions all the time on my DH bike. I currently have a Minion DHF (3C) on the front and a 2.4 Telonix stick-e on the back of my DH bike.

And then two of the Telonix DTC (dual compound) on my trail bike.

For trail riding I definitely like the Telonix 2.4 DTC's with the 1.5 ply casing. I'm feeling good on loose corners with those for sure, and they're lighter weight.

I'm honestly having a hard time deciding what to go with on the DH bike now since it needs new tires soon.

Just going to put in a write-in ballot for the Geax Sturdy 2.3. They're super high volume for their size, very aggressive block tread, and durable as hell. Worth checking out.

The nevegals I used were so flimsy, I ripped the side wall out in about 5 rides. Check out these hutchinsons for $12.95 at greeenfishsports. Free shipping for orders over about $80. I've got them on my bike, so far they've been good. Super sticky and soft and will probably only last half a season but at that price who cares, I bought a few so that I can change them as necessary.

I am liking those sticky nevegals marshal sent over. I put one on front ghetto tubeless and it really tracks well through every thing so far. Doesn't get knocked around as much as my spesh resolutions. And it has much better braking grip. It definately makes my stumpy feel more AM than XC. Riding resolutions it was the reverse.

Mine did the same thing. three rides three rear flats with a sidewall rip on the last one. They came off and some lust 2.35 ignitors went on.

I had 2.35 non-ust nevegals with stans fluid BUT no strip , mounted on 819 UST rims and they lost 10lbs of air overnight everynight, did yours seal up and hold air OK,the side walls seem to be pretty porous ?

Or maybe you shouldnt run non-UST nevegals on a UST rim without a stanstrip?

performance wise for soft wet conditions they are great ,I found em noticably faster rolling from the 1st pedal stroke ,I found on a certain downhill I was on the brakes to keep from running into buddy up ahead ... whereas a week before I was just coasting along behind the rest of the crew on the original maxxis hi-rollers
