A "These mags are top notch sellers/buyers. Feel free to do business with them" or a "preferred seller/buyer" thread? And it will be the communities job to stick to it. If you buy/sell something from someone for a good price, the transaction went through perfect, etc. throw them some stoke in that thread.

I think that would be more beneficial than all this stuff about people when we can't get the whole/true story from either parties.

Another gear swap i've spend hundreds of $$ at for golf eqt has it's own feedback system, i guess similar to eGays. It does help show who's been doing square deals, and some folks won't deal with folks with zero feedback. While that seems a bit like a catch-22, some folks have bought a few things, gotten great feedback on their communication and rapid payment, and have established their bona fides that way. Just dos centavos...

Somebody I had a bad experience with is Lee Brown, from Oswego(?) or Oxford or something, PA. He clearly doesn't give a shit, and will maybe pay you, or not. Either way he's been on this site as a buyer and seller in at least 4 different usernames, and everytime something hits the fan he just says fuck it and changes his name instead of making it right.

Last time I saw his email was esfreeridepa@yahoo.com, he's gone by esfreeridepa and most recently esuskee here, as a well at least two other usernames so boring or unoriginal I can't remember -- 169k2faggot or something like that -- NS-type usernames.

Anyways, bump to say Fuck Him.

Esuskee is one of those types that will say they have paid when they haven't. I recently sold a bunch of gear using Amazon gift certificates as payment. Amazon will not release the gift cert without pmt. Sorry to hear this late that he's a scammer. He claimed that he sent the $ but I did not receive it. (despite more than 10 other buyers who did so without trouble) I thought he was a bit of a dolt, but now see that he may have been trying to play me to get the goods shipped before paying.

Many PMs back and forth later, he was forced to complete the transaction in order for me to see payment and release the goods. With JONG transactions, you need to adopt a "no payment=no gear" policy.

Bump because I just came across this and had sent some brakes to Lee Brown for $10 shipped last spring and he never paid. With an increase in gear swap transactions, it seems that it is all too easy for him to continue these low level scams.

Looks like board reputation favoritism has good justification (The No-Jong approach), leaving individual callouts prolly a better way to handle people souring deals. The mag reputation for big slack and good intentions (the one thing Rob Story prolly never should have mentioned in SKIING) took some hits this past year.

Sorry newbies, we were all there once. Establish a solid rep and good deals will come your way eventually. If you don't understand that, go on to craigslist and ebay; we're hooking each other up first. I'm much more comfortable buying/selling from someone I know, has only a few degrees of separation or has established a solid rep.

Just a quick bump for this thread.

Sold a pair of 185 BD Kilowatts to a guy in Millinocket, ME on EGay.

He paid quickly and I shipped the skis quickly. I recieved an email from EGay stating that the item was not as described to which I call bullshit on.

The skis were drilled once for Bomber Bishop bindings and they buyer stated that the holes were drilled through the ski and repaired and that it had dimpled the base. This clearly was never the case as I tuned and inspected the skis prior to shipping them.

This guy was relentless on his quest for a refund. He said he didn't want to go through the hassle of shipping the skis back to me even though I offered to completely refund his purchase. He also said he had just won another auction for some bindings so he didn't want to give up the skis. So I guess the skis weren't in that bad of shape after all. I finally got him off my ass and refunded him $15 for shipping.
