    Chicken Legs!!..recommend me a boot

Hey so I need a boot for next year. Wanting a nice high end freestyle boot something around 90-100 flex. I have skinny shins and a slim profile foot. I bought a spk pro model last year..it was comfy and snug in the store but it packed out alot and left me with a pretty sloppy boot. I was looking at the salomon gun and I hear some of the langes are good for my type of fit. Any help would be sick

    thanks
    Steve

Nordica Hot Rod or Full Tilt or Dalbello Kryptons

i have sexy chicken legs, no boot is ever going to fit my calf properly but if you are prone to shin bang like i am go for dalbello, solved that problem entirely. i never got to try full tilts though so they might be even better?

SPK is a med to large volume boot, why where you in that in the first place???

most boots can just have the buckles re-drilled to make the shin snugger, but adding an eliminator tounge will help too.
    for a narrow foot.
    Full tilt
lange HP (98mm) or WC (96mm) shapes are good
    Salomon Falcon (98mm)
    Nordica Doberman.

Best way, find a boot fitter and let then to there job. You will get way better info then asking some geeks on a random ski forum, that have never seen your foot shape, ankle range of motion, heel width, amount of pronation, leg size, etc.

Probably stiffer than you're looking for but Lange World Cup 130 LF (for low fit) have worked out great for my dad who has skinny ass chicken legs. I'm not sure if Lange makes their freeride line in an LF mold too...

I'm a fellow chicken legger and narrow heel - between my Langes and Flexons (Full-Tilt) I much prefer the comfort of the Flexons, particularly with thermos. It's weird though, I have three pairs of Flexons and one has a much different middle cable length than the other two - significantly shorter, which is perfect. My .02.

But, pretty much what mntlion says is the gospel of boots.

mntlion is right. You're setting yourself up for FAIL if you just buy boot "X" based on random advice. Find a good bootfitter. Where do you live? I'm sure someone here could recommend a good fitter/shop in your area.

If the shell size of your current boot is correct, just spend the money on foamable liners. Foamable liners rock!

The WC and FR lines are the new LF molds.

I have incredibly skinny calves too and use Eliminators and Boosters with all my boots.

Full Tilt Konflicts are sweet for skinny feet plus you can change the flex by putting in a different tongue.

kryptons all the way, the middle buckle helps with little legs because it pushes your foot and ankle back

I have skinny ankles and fairly narrow but not super narrow feet. Kryptons are a bit too roomy on me.
I like Salomon Pro Model (not that SPK thing duh), I think its the same shell as Salomon Course boots but softer flex. Its nice and snug all around on me.
You could keep an eye out for some tecnica icon xt17 boots, a bit stiffer, also low volume. Flexons are pretty good too.

Too roomy? Jeezus. I put a Krypton on my foot and couldn't even get the buckles to reach the latch.

Am I the only one out there with yeti feet?

You can buy replacement cables of different lengths from Full-Tilt or by salvaging them from older Flexons. The cables are sized based on boot size. I have cables from smaller boots on my size 13 Full-Tilts.

Boot fitter all the way. That is if you want a perfect fit. Its impossible to say without looking at your foot/ankle/calf. A good boot fitter will get you setup just right.

Raichle Flexon Comps Still Rule For Me

    stevev,
A low cost alternative that works for me is skiing on Raichle Flexon Comps. This is the particular model suited for most skiers on this board. Took care of all my fit problems, especially the shin bang. Probably could get these around $60-75 very easily here or on eBay but you must know your shell size in mm...
