    First AK Trip

So I just moved to Fairbanks for work and play. This weekend I ventured out a little and went to a spot that was very popular and there were probably 10+ people around by the time I left. Badger Slough. Got there around 6am and left around noon with a fish count of, honestly the first time I could claim this many, 50ish fish. All Grayling of the same general size.

Definately a good way to start my fishing out here in AK. Looking to get further out and into pike, salmon and lakers later, but this place is close to work and a lot of fun.

    The averge grayling

Pretty fun and first time catching grayling. All grayling here are C&R only. It neat that so many people are out purely for fishing, not harvesting. I know its a touchy subject, but I'm just pointing out the fact that there were so many people here fishing just to fish. I think I'm gonna like it here.

I'm gonna throw a couple more pics up here just because. They're from my last week in Colorado.

Here's a view at Walden Ponds near Boulder.

And a Pelican at Spinney (where I was skunked for the first time ever!)

Nice! Reminds me of fishing some of the 'usual' spots in Yellowstone. You kinda have your spot and the next guy is a few yards away.

I'm not used to a crowd like that. Yea, you basically had a 10 ft gap on each side by the time I left. But at 6 in the morning it was nice! also 72twenty, I lucked into this job up here and two weeks ago was living in Colorado with no idea I'd be moving up here. So you never know!

Also, I'm sure there will be plenty more grayling stoke seeing as that spot is between work and home. I hope to have some bow and/or pike stoke for you guys later tonight too(here's hoping the ice is off at least partially).

One more thing, what's people's thoughts on fishing TRs. I know there's the 2008 Reports thread that people are using. Is that for quick reports/updates, mainly for info or TRs in general. Are TRs still preferred form for longer reports with stories and pics? just curious.

Head to the mouth of the Moose and Middle Kenai when the reds are in and you'll learn to appreciate the 10-foot gap.

The "Reports" thread is more for quick updates, conditions and maybe a couple photos...IMO. I say post your own AK TR's! More please.
