I'm sure Pow4Brians set you straight, but i get the feeling you love to fish, and would be absolutely nuts to pass up the Jefferson and Gallatin. Depending on how much time you have, it would be worth the two hour drive over to the Big Hole too.

not just yeah, but hell yeah. this time of year, the bows are spawning in the missouri below hauser dam. get out there with your egg patterns and pick off the biggest trout you have ever caught. not sure if the kokes come up from holter lake to eat eggs, but the browns and bows do for sure.

just keep off the spawning beds, fish below them for the hauser hawgs that are hanging out slurping eggs as they wash off the beds.

dont worry about how many pieces the rod is, the hike isnt bad and i usually rig up at the dam and walk down from there. since it's a tail water, you don;t have to worry much about it getting blown out.

damn i wish i could cast, i'd join you in a heartbeat.

Well, it isn't a for sure thing yet, and I may not be the one going (might be other people from my department). I will let you guys know if I am going. It looks to be June 17th, 18th & 19th.

the spawn will be over, but pulling streamers though the pool below the dam can be productive and fun.
