I'm sitting here in my new job in my new big office, shirt and tie, reading a book about fund raising, blah blah. All I can think about is getting out on the water.

Heh - yeah, those days are over. I have a wife and one kid, but I also have water and mountains close to home, so sneaking away is fairly easy.

I know the feeling well. I have finals this week and next, and sitting in front of this computer at this desk, dreaming of fishing, is killing me. The more I try and cram into a day, the more I daydream about being knee deep in a mountain stream. In fact today i couldn't take it anymore so I shut my Kant philosophy book, closed my computer and booked it out to Fishing Cr. for the evening hatch

Isn't it crazy how fishing just INVADES your consciousness? And the better your season is going, the worse it gets.

Over the summer I can't even look at my BlackBerry calendar without thinking about tides and lunar cycles.
