Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. Big Island.
Got a couple grand more elevation over Maui.
Haleakala is 10K.

I really want to go there, but apparently the peak is rarely open after snowfall and it melts pretty quick, but its on my checklist

I will seriously consider doing this next winter. I can just see the looks on the faces of the hotel staff as I check in with skis over my shoulder.

I was staying on the beach on Banyan Drive in Hilo with my ski gear, trying to find someone to drive me up when it snowed back in the seventies. Locals def be raisin their eyebrows at this haole boy. Never happened, so I left my gear hoping someone would use it and bailed to Maui.

A few locals gave me the name of a guy who guides (or at least drives people up there) to ski.
The guy was listed in the phone book so I gave him a call, but he seemed pretty confused by me asking about skiing at the end of May.
