make sure the crank arm hole is not stripped. If it is bring it to a shop and get a new one.

If that is not the problem listen to Cant Dog

Then I hope you have the $$$ to replace it. as soon as the crankset to BB interface gets worn, you will be replacing both.

definately sounds like something is stripped. so you are going to be out a crank, or a bb, or both. thats what shops are for in the first place, watch them do the repair...then try it yourself.

watch them and watch what tools they use,

    Then go buy
    crank puller,
    allen key set,
    BB tool (s),
thread chaser for the BB threads,
and the refacing tool for the BB shell on the frame.
torque wrench to re install to the right tighness

Then go do it your self with all the money you saved.

Speaking of long day as a bike tech...ever built a schwinn delux 7 crusier? Takes 3 hrs! and nothing fits right so zip ties and bending metal are a constant task at hand. He's going to be hurting atter the BB thread tap....what are those like $3-400
