If you are working downtown, anywhere between downtown and 9000 sout hwill work. It really all depends on the other factors. I live in Sugarhouse and the deciding factor for me was that I can walk to just about anything, movies, excellent restaurants, grocery store, etc. There aren't many places here that you can do that. If the "other " factors don't matter, go out south and live in suburbia.
As far as real estae goes, location location location. Homes in my hood sell over night.
Plus from up on the bench you can spit down on us peons who live in the real Sugarhood.Originally posted by cololi

Stump: Buses downtown are pretty good if you can get on a direct line. Transferring slows you down a bunch and kinda sucks, but we moved here used to NYC transit. Not sure what you're used to in Boston.
If you haven't seen the UTA Bus site, check it:

Nice on the job. Can you teach me how to trend/forecast via PM?

You guys are rocking my world with all the input. This thread = money.
Office is at170 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101-1660. Seems like its right in the heart of downtown, though I have little familiarty with that area.
Hunter - I'll PM you - maybe you can show me some rental houses when I get in town? Right now I'm certainly leading toward the Alta View / Fort Union/ 9400 area.
JFrizzo - what you want to know about trending? My experience in Boston bars these days has learned me that 80's type ho skirts are back in. PM me anytime, I can pass along more tidbits(I'll also pass along real bits of knowledge of forecasting if you'd like).
you have gotten good advice here & I will share another tidbit.
your office is 4 blocks from my house. walking to work )AND HOME FROM THe BARS) rocks.
you can be right off the freeway so a trip up BCC or LCC is quick (30-40 minutes) I should know I do it every day.
although some people live closer to the skiing, freeway access keeps my time down .
moving here solo it will be easier to meet people & get out if you are DT
plus you are MUCH more likely to show your lady a good time when she visits
Woodsy speaks the troof.
That's why we chose Sugarhouse. It's a nice medium. Right near the freeway and you get a house and a yard. Cheaper than downtown but more character ("life") than Sandy.
You've got your own needs, tho, plus you run with people who are going to Wharton and Duke so I'm sure you're a big boy who can make his own decisions.

Those peeps let me roll with them cause I make them look that much better. I'm the dude in the group who has been out of school for 8 years, watched most of his friends either enroll or complete grad school, and am still trying to figure out what the f I want to do.Originally posted by jayfrizzo

Interesting stuff - makes it seem that prices are due for a drop off (low demand = lower prices). Its certainly something to keep in mind. Thanks for the link.Originally posted by MacDaddy
